IAC undertook archaeological monitoring of ground works associated with the Ballinlaw to Belview Gas Pipeline, Co. Kilkenny to the east of Waterford City. The route corridor, which measured 5.3km, extended from the Great Island pipeline at Ballinlaw to the proposed new Glanbia facility near Belview Port. The working width of the pipeline route was approximately 30m. Six sites of archaeological significance were identified during monitoring which were subject to full excavation. The sites represent a burnt mound and charcoal production pits and possible charcoal production pits.
