IAC undertook an archaeological and architectural assessment for an EIA of a 75.5 ha quarry site in Broadstone, Graney, Co. Kildare. An enclosure (KD040-050) had been identified within the area of proposed development on aerial photographs however this had already been removed due to quarrying. To mitigate against further damage to the remaining RMP constraint it was recommended that this area be avoided by activities associated with the proposed development. A large mound was noted to the north of the study area which may possess archaeological potential. The site was bound to the south by the River Graney and as such may have had potential for archaeological deposits associated with riverine environments. It was recommended that a geophysical survey be carried out to assess the full potential of the area.
