Our recent research excavation at Servant's Hill in Bangor, Co. Down was the focus of last nights episode of Ulster Unearthed (UTV 4.2.13 8pm). Test excavations were undertaken in late 2012 in an attempt to identify some structures shown in Hamilton's Estate on Thomas Raven's map of Bangor (1625). This work was undertaken as part of the Ulster Scots Archaeological Project. An ongoing blog discussing the excavation and research results is located here.

Post-excavation analyses are ongoing for the Servant's Hill site and will update the blog soon with the findings!

Excavation in Blanchardstown (Abbotstown), Co. Dublin in the National Sports Campus starting in c. 2 weeks. Looking for 4-5 site assistants for excavation which is expected to run for about 3-4 weeks. If you are interested please email your CV to archaeology@iac.ie.

Borderlands: Archaeological Investigations along the Route of the N18 Gort to Crusheen Road Scheme was launched last Friday night in Clare Museum.

We are currently undertaking a research excavation in Bangor, Co. Down as part of the Ulster-Scots Archaeological Project.
